The Beach in December... Nothing Like Christmas in July

We went to Waycross, Ga to help our friends Rudy and Rachelle move all of their belongings down there. When we arrived the trailer was emptied within the hour, and we had all day Saturday to figure out what to do with ourselves. So we smushed everyone in our truck, Rudy, Chris, Rachelle, Jeremiah, and myself, and went to Jeckyll Island. We had a blast! When Jeremiah saw the Ocean for the very first time, he wasn't the least bit hesitant! He went running for the water. To watch him look out at the ocean, it reminded me of a verse that God has really been using in my life lately. Not so ironically found in the book of Jeremiah chapter 2 verse 19. Now if you read this you might find it a little disconcerting. Basically it is talking about the evil of this world, in relation to all God has done for his people. It is a rebuke saying that we must have awe of God, because HE is the Lord Almighty! I saw that awe in my sons' eyes as he looked out over the water, and it ran up in waves on his legs. He was utterly fascinated. What wonder we lack as we grow older. What a challenge to me!
